When the internet became widely used, paper magazines and newspapers catered to the desires of their readers and joined the world wide web. YouTube provided an alternative to television. Despite the diverse existing means of communications, more are expected to emerge. Right now, podcasts are the hot potato.
The likes of Curiosity.com and BBC News felt the need to expand by providing podcasts. While podcasts aren’t necessarily a novelty, these popular websites shifted the status of podcasts and turned them mainstream.
With the normalization of Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home, voice is truly this year's medium. Voice technology has not only transformed the home, but the effects of it have seeped into society. We are now living in a society where having a voice is possessing the ultimate platform.
